Bildende Künstler in New York und Berlin: zum symbolischen Kapital von Metropolen.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Morten Dysgaard</span> (*1976 in Kopenhagen) - in der Ausstellung mit seiner Arbeit <span style="font-style: italic;">Spiral of gazes </span>vertreten - beschreibt in seinen Filmen</span></span><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-family:verdana;"> das Spannungsfeld und den Widerspruch zwischen der Verortung in kultureller Identität und globalem Leben.</span></span><span style=";font-family:verdana;font-size:85%;" > Morten Dysgaard</span><span style="font-family:verdana;"><span style="font-size:85%;"> hat seinen Master of Fine Arts (MFA) an der Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Kopenhagen absolviert. Strand, Dänemark (2006) und bei The Lab, San Francisco, USA (2007). At the moment the urban anthropologists and art theorist works as a freelance curatorial assistant for the 5th Berlin Biennale and is writing her dissertation on the theme of 'Art and the City - Visual Artists in New York und Berlin: about the Symbolic Capital of the Metropolis'.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Morten Dysgaard's </span></span></span><span style="font-family:verdana;"><span style="font-size:85%;">(*1976 in Copenhagen) </span></span><span style="font-family:verdana;"><span style="font-size:85%;"><span>featured work in the exhibition is his film <span style="font-style: italic;">Spiral of gazes</span></span>. His films ask pertinent questions about social conventions and in doing so, bend these norms. His work deals with the process of self perception which arises when one is being confronted with and reflected by a foreign identity.</span></span><span style="font-family:verdana;"><span style="font-size:85%;"> Morten has been awarded a number of scholarships, including five by the Danish Arts Council.
